V

I remember V, back in the eighties. It was new back then, with strange aliens wearing human disguises, eating live mouses and everything. V (movie and tv series) is a Sci-Fi classic.

In 2009, V returned. Yes, they are back!
But they are different than before, it doesn't really look like a Sci-Fi movie, it's more like a conspiracy film. It reminds me Flash Forward (or 4400). The aliens look smarter than before and you know that there is something ongoing.

I only watched the beginning (only the first 3 episodes). The plot looked interesting, like a new vision of the V story, more convincing.

I don't usually enjoy 45-minutes episodes unless something happens in them. But here, it was a little boring, so I think that this is the biggest problem for me.

Now, maybe the second season will be more interesting and will have a better start, but currently it's a little disappointing.

Gossip Girl

The next TV show is Gossip Girl. I have to say that it looked like a show for girls.
But hey, if it's good it's better than a bad "generic" TV show!

So I started with season 1, I didn't expect what came in the first two episodes. This just looked like the film Cruel Intentions, same atmosphere, same context, and everything.
But while Cruel Intentions is a film with a duration of something like 1:30, is quite strong and has a really melodramatic end, I don't think that it will be the same for Gossip Girl, since it's a TV show with multiple seasons.

So the first two episodes really disappointed me, it's not like some shows that you like right from the beginning and you can't stop watching.
One thing that surprised me there was the use of cellphones. I think that it was to stick with the concept, but it looked quite strange for me.

But I'm quite curious, so I couldn't stay there. So I watched a little more (up to episode 5), and I'd say that it's starting to be better and more interesting. The atmosphere feels different and I'd say that it's better that way.

I don't know if I'll continue watching it, but it's not bad.
And if you are interested, you should watch more than just the first two episodes.

Bye!

Private Practice

Summer is here! This means good weather, nice blue sky, sun and... all tv shows are on hold during 2 months!

So, what to do with all the spare time? On my side, I watch series that I didn't watch during the year. This often includes series that I never watched during multiple seasons.
So, here is my first review: Private Practice.

Private Practice is a spin-off of Grey's Anatomy. The main link between the two series is Addison Montgomery, but we can see some other characters from Grey's Anatomy from time to time. The first season of Private Practice starts during the third season of Grey's Anatomy, with Addison leaving Seattle for Los Angeles.

I must say, I'm a big fan of Grey's Anatomy, but back when this started, I wasn't really interested in watching it, so now that I have some time, let's see how it is and what happened during those three seasons.

The atmosphere is really different between Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. Private Practice is more "cool". Since it's a private practice and not a big hospital, each episode only covers few patients, and while big disasters were common in Grey's Anatomy, this rarely occurs here.
So the big show that we had on Grey's Anatomy is kind of gone, but on the other side, there is a stronger relation with patients.

When the show started, I read somewhere that this were targeted at an older public, and I must say that this looks like it. The main thing is about relations between characters, which are more direct than a lot of other series.

So in the end, is it good? Is it worth watching it?

On my side, I'd say that it's interesting to watch. I don't find here the things that made Grey's Anatomy such a good show, but it's still not boring or anything.
(Plus, it's in Los Angeles so it feels like it's summer all the time during the three seasons, which is good because it's summer right now)

For those who disliked Grey's Anatomy, I can't say but I think that you should not because it's still kind of the same spirit behind this.

See you soon!

It's alive!

Okay, so here it is. Once again, I'm setting up a blog. Maybe this time will be the good one.

First of all, I had to choose a display name, I didn't know what to choose between my real name and another anonymous pen name. I choose my real name, this is usual on blogs, we'll see...

Then, an url name. This was hard. Finding something that has some meaning, is not too long and is not yet taken is hard, in particular the last part: something that is not yet taken! But well, I'll maybe explain this one someday.

One last thing, why am I writing this in english? I don't know, I think that this might interest more people that way. Not that I expect it to have some followers, but I don't know.

The last thing is what will this blog be about. Currently I don't really know, a blog can be about anything, or even everything. You'll likely see comments about TV shows, but maybe other things too if I want to.

Enjoy!
